As you travel from Panama City to Colon you will see the historic forts from Spanish times when pirates threatened the town of Porto Bello. Learn of the trading posts with the Spanish Galleons traded European goods for silver and gold extracted from Peru. Hear the tale of Captain Morgan, Francis Drake, and the sack of Portobello. Today healthy reefs coming out of the water, swaying palm trees, laid back lifestyle, reggae music, and traditional congo dances contribute to an amazing and authentic Caribbean experience. Day 1: Arrive in Panama City, and check into your hotel. Enjoy a city tour of the old Spanish town of Casco Viejo. Here locals gather in the town squares for shopping, playing, or have a romantic moment. In the night time we will travel to the Causeway where you will see scenic views of the Bridge of the Americas. This bridge is the Pacific opening to the Panama Canal, and only water way between the continents. You will also see the sparkeling downtown Panama, and modern Metropolis on the horizon. Day 2: Visit the Archelogical remains of the original city of Panama. Founded shortly before Europeans discovered the New World. The remains are what is left after pirates burned the city to the ground. However, archelogical research is still revealing clues to pre-colombian times. Da 3: Today we take off for the Caribbean coast. We will travel through the lush Soberania National Park, to the picturesque Caribbean Sea. We make a stop in Porto Bello. Here you will see the old Spanish fort, strategically placed in a narrow bay. Old Cannons, and cannon balls still are positioned out to sea. This is where Captain Morgan made his infamous sack of Porto Bello, which made him the wealthiest, and most notorious pirate. Day 4: Today we spend the night in Isla Grande this charming island is true paradise. Enjoy snorkeling in the crystal clean beach, surfing on the beach, or just mixing rum and coconuts together with a side of Fried Fish. This is the ultimate caribbean experience. Learn the rich culture of these people, and how the nearby city of Colon was once the largest slave port. The islanders learned to keep their traditions through dance, and local customs. Day 5: Travel through Panama's jungle and lakes. We check into the beautiful Gamboa Resort. Here delicious food, and tons of outdoor activities are for your choosing. Kayak lake Gatun, or Zip line through the rain forest Day 6: Visit the black and white sand beach of Rio Mar. This unique beach is worth the visit, and is home to many surf competitions Day 7 : Return to Panama City, and depart for home
